The Sheepfold

As I was looking through my picture archives, I found some sheep pictures taken a year ago as the date on the EXIF showed. I was hoping the sheep owners let them hang out in the same place this year. We headed to the same place yesterday and just like the year before, they were there! Young and old alike, they are congregating and resting in green pastures.

“‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. 12 As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.”

Ezekiel 34:11-12

I just kept taking pictures and did not look at them closely until I got home and to my surprise, a partially shaven one! Not to worry. Though it looks pretty odd right now, it will recover. God works the same way. We call on Him at our lowest point and He helps us get through the rough and painful times,

“He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.”

Psalm 147:3

“I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”

John 10:16

“When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.”

John 10:4

“But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”

John 10:5

“He again sets a certain day, “Today,” saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before,

Hebrews 4:7

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

John 10:27
