Most of us are questioning what’s going on in today’s headlines. While we put our hope in God, our flesh gets hit as we see waves billowing in the horizon. Going back to my post on Election day entitled Shadrach, Meshach & Abednego, the reality of that historical and biblical account is that God allows believers to go through the fire, even to the point that it was cranked up seven times hotter! (Daniel 3:19) Will we stand firm in our convictions just like they did?
“But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
With things looking so uncertain, all of us hope and wish for good things. We also must not neglect to prepare ourselves mentally, emotionally and most especially spiritually in the event that God allows us to go through intense persecution and tribulation to show His glory perfected in us through endurance (James 1:2-4). 2 Thessalonians 2 in the NKJV has this heading, The Great Apostasy. Why? Because things will get even harder. The Word of God teaches us in 2 Timothy 4:3,
“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”
Who would not want to hear good news? Certainly all of us do, but God’s Word is replete with warnings. Since we are living in the end times, there is no better time than now to heed Jesus’ warning not to let anyone deceive us. People will deceive us, but God’s Word is absolute truth (John 17:17).
This video has been around for some months now, but thanks to Newsmax, this sure made my family get a good laugh today.
Have a great weekend everyone and may God bless us all.
