To Be A Bacon Or A Beacon?

Alas, that is quite a question.

The bacon beckons
But when you’re done, it only leaves you empty

The beacon reckons
But when all is said and done, it leads to a life of piety

One leaves
One leads
Only one choice
To that still small voice

Beware of False Teachers

For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”

2 Peter 2:18-22

To be a bacon or a beacon? That is the question.

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.”

Matthew 5:14-15

    1. No one can resist bacon. Well, maybe those who choose not to eat meat. But, it is a fitting symbol for our carnal nature, not just in appearance but also what it evokes when we smell it. It’s intoxicating, to me anyway. ヅ

  1. You are a blogger after my own heart, Caeli. So glad Dee turned me on to your site. I, too, blog about conversations with God and also try to see God in situations that others may miss. By the way…I love your hat. And I did take time to smell the ‘Bacon’….I mean the Beacon. Be blessed!
