Proving The Scriptures Right

A friend directed me to this blasphemous cartoon but since we’re not Islamic, the only thing we can do is talk about this. You won’t hear any Christian chant, “Death to the cartoonist” because we have been warned (John 15:18-25, 2 Peter 3:1-7) that we will be mocked and so, seeing this kind of thing actually validates the veracity of Scripture!

* There is nothing worse than an apostate/unbeliever who attempts to set Christianity straight in the lens of irreverence. The person who wrote the script for the comic book series slated to be released in March happens to have also authored Christian-related books. I am not going to promote it here but you could do the research.

For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

Philippians 3:18-21

  1. Russell said the comic is a commentary on how Christians misunderstand the Bible and Jesus today.

“The Christian religion doesn’t really base itself on what he taught, particularly in the modern Evangelical megachurches,” Russell said. “They have him more as a mascot on t-shirts to prove they’re on the winning team. [Second Coming] is about Jesus coming down and being appalled by what he sees has been done in his name by Christianity in the last 2,000 years.”

Sounds like the intent is spot on.

    1. Thanks for the comment. If you go on goodreads, I think there are excerpts that reviewers took the liberty of including in their reviews especially on the 1st book. If you feel like defending Russell after that, I honestly don’t know what to say. It would be helpful if you also researched a synopsis of the comic. CBN News has an article which covers that (which includes a link to a primary source interview with Russell).

The book title is very misleading which in essence mischaracterizes God. To trivialize the Second Coming like this comic is doing is setting up people to further misunderstand the Bible & Jesus- pretty much contrary to what this man purports to correct.

    2. I looked at Goodreads and googled looking for excerpts, and I can’t find anything. It looks like an attempt at satire, which many times speaks more truth than anything. I will withhold my opinion on it until more details come out, but it seems that this is just another false flag playing on Christian’s martyr complex. Thanks for the response.

    3. I emailed you the attachment of both reviews which caught me by surprise. Also, if foul language is no issue to you which is prevalent in the book, then I suppose everyone else who goes by Ephesians 4:29 should capitulate to the ways of the world, which doing so would be the definition of a pseudo-Christian.

  2. The whole Christian religion is contrived and based on falsifications, intentional mistranslations and using texts out of context. And your post itself is guilty of the circular arguments of Christianity where the assumption of the conclusion is required prior to the argument to make it work at all and so means nothing!

    1. Thanks for commenting. What do you believe in, if you don’t mind me asking? And can you provide me some of those “falsifications, intentional mistranslations” you are speaking of rather than launching an assertion with no proof?

In regards to reading biblical text, we are to draw out the application in order to live by it as long as it does not deviate. It is not strictly a historical book but also of principles and prophecy which makes a lot of people uncomfortable.

Speaking of prophecy, our generation is witnessing it coming to pass and pretending it is not what is happening will not make it go away.

    2. Look up JewsforJudaism.ca if you are interested in the facts. Jews don’t believe in Satan, Hell, an Afterlife, Heaven or that god could be a man. The whole belief system is alien to Judaism and so Christianity was a religion using established Judaism to tenuously invent another religion.
Even prophesy used in Christianity has nothing in common with Jewish beliefs!

    3. Hmmm, you are going to have someone else explain it for you? What do you personally believe?

Anyway, the Jews whom Jesus dealt with at the time did not believe Him because they were looking for a different kind of messiah but you could check Romans 11 as to why. They will in the end accept Jesus as their Messiah.

    4. You make absolutely no sense with your nonsense, but how can you know the truth being blind, for the Scriptures of the Jews contradicts everything you said. I took a look at your disgusting comments that you left at your blog. You want a definition of pure evil? Answer: Robert. You have no clue what is a Jew and even less what is a Christian. How can you if you serve the god of this age that you claim does not exist. All that anger that you display at your blog tells a lot about the darkness of your soul.

    5. No partner, Christianity makes absolutely no sense and to cover up this fact millions of Jews have been persecuted and murdered for 2000 years!

    6. Are you Jewish? You keep talking about Jews but never say you are. Are you ashamed of being one? Asking you this because for all I know, you could be something else pretending to be something you are not just to stir up dissension. Looking at your Christmas post, you demonize Christians who are actually siding with Jewish people rather than Extremist Muslims who are vowing to eradicate the Jewish people in this day and age! Sounds like a deflection tactic, along with your Christian intimidation tactic. I see you also use “I bet you are Catholic” to every Christian who tries to reason with you.

One last thing. I saw how bothered you were when someone sent you a video link to look at saying if they couldn’t explain in their own words, not to bother. I see it doesn’t bother you doing the same thing…

    7. The Jews, according to Scripture [the O.T.] were persecuted because they would abandon Yahweh, so He would hand them over to their enemies. Once they repented of their sins, God would bring them back to their homeland, Jerusalem. Saying that, everyone who tried to destroy the Jews were demonically directed because they are God’s people. They are waiting for their Messiah and when He comes they will believe in Him.

Go and read Isaiah 53 and Zechariah 12:10, all point to Jesus Christ the Living God. You say that God is not a man, true…not just a man but man and God at the same time. In Genesis 18:1-3 which says, The Lord appeared to Abraham at the oaks of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance of his tent during the heat of the day. 2 He looked up, and he saw three men standing near him. When he saw them, he ran from the entrance of the tent to meet them, bowed to the ground, 3 and said, “My lord, if I have found favor with you, please do not go on past your servant.

It shows that the LORD/Yahweh appeared to Abram as a man with 2 angels who were with the LORD at the time of Abram’s visit.

Again, you speak what you have no clue about.

I perceive that something happened to you in the past to ooze so much hatred.
