Bloodsport

Have you ever seen Bloodsport? I was barely 10 when I saw the movie and yet, one scene that is indelible was the fight scene towards the end. Something I could not forget was the indignation I felt upon seeing the other guy resorting to dirty tactics, throwing something in Frank’s (played by Van Damme) eyes, so that he would win the fight. I’m now almost 40 and yet, I remember the details.

When I watched the exact scene again (*here*), I don’t feel the same indignation I felt back then and the acting seems kinda cheesy to me now. Even so, it remains to be one of my favorite movies especially because of the ending where the one who was cheated ended up as the victor.

The past week has been nothing but a political bloodsport and even now, it continues to be. Although things are looking up, the next 24 hours will be the longest for Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his family. The nightmare is definitely not over yet, but whatever happens is God’s will.

As a Christian, we are called to lead a life of faith (not the blind kind), renew our minds, renounce a lifestyle of sin and most certainly not toss our brains (Matthew 10:16). We must not ignore and discount the evidence presented to us.

If you claim to be a Christian but consider yourself a Liberal when it comes to politics, before you take your ‘Kava “Nah”‘ placard to the streets to support the cause of those who employ bully tactics to get their way, I implore you to rethink your stance. Before you go out the door, can you grant respect when people don’t see things your way? Screaming and bullying people may appear to yield results, but the long-term impression is that it only exposes the filth that’s deep-seated in your core camouflaged with “Social Justice.”

The irony of this whole scenario is that the people who appear to be looking for more evidence/calling for more investigation don’t really care about the truth or the political road kill, but only to obtain power for themselves. It is the same crowd who’d crucify people based on false accusations, (and you better pray you will not be accused of anything in this climate of “guilty before proven innocent”), who demand justice from everyone else but themselves are unable to give it.

  1. That was my favorite movie growing up, actually I used to watch it a few times a day, haha. It’s funny you bring up that specific movie actually. The thing about all this political garbage is that it’s all mind control, the left versus the right paradigm is all “hegelian dialectic”, it’s how the satanic government tricks people into doing what they want in the first place. I used to believe all that stuff too, but then I started to ask questions and found some truth videos and watched them, then found some more and off it went, now I know that everything on TV and media is all lies and mind control. I’d suggest to go on youtube and search for “Russianvids” and checkout his videos.

      As Christians, we are expected to respect our elected officials (and yes, I was compelled to do just that even in the previous administration especially when the Christian faith was under attack through legislation and marginalization ) as stated in Romans 13:1-2, “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God. Consequently, the one who resists authority is opposing what God has set in place, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”

      Opposition is a fact of life since the beginning of time. When it comes to politics, I respect people’s decision to choose for themselves. What I find vexing however, is when you engage someone in a conversation and ask them why they got there, they give you something as blatant as plain gender tribalism, like I am expected to vote for someone from the same gender even if my beliefs and principles are completely antithetical to the candidate’s. There’s more to life than tribalism and it is when we get past this very barrier that we can claim we have progress – when we can set aside our physical and racial differences and pursue a common goal under the same moral principles.

      There has always been only two sides, good and evil. The problem we are now facing is the result of the other side changing the rules and standard for what is good and evil.

      Like your other quote in 1 Corinthians 6, you gave the quote without any supporting explanation on the point you are personally trying to make apart from the scripture verses so in this Romans 2, you say to let God handle it but our Christianity expects us to do God’s will and along those lines come supporting political candidates who support freedom of Religion which ties to the freedom of being able to tell people the good news. Without this, people will never get to hear about Jesus. Imagine the hostility even more so when Christians skip voting altogether and the godless make the laws of the land… That was what happened in 2008 and 2012.

    2. People’s votes don’t count, the elites put their own candidates into office that they want. I wanted trump to win too, but then I noticed something isn’t right about how both hillary and trump praise the pope. If you do some research you’ll see how they tricked everyone with the two part system. The thing is that’s how they work, keep doing research and seeking the truth, youtube search “Russianvids” he explains a lot of their tactics.

    3. Not voting is the same as giving up. Whether you think your vote counts or not, I saw the impossibility happen and whether Trump is part of “the plan” of the elites, that is inescapable. Read the whole book of Revelation and do not rely too much on unbiblical sources. I see that his leadership is buying Christian people some time compared to if Hillary won. Whatever happens, I TRUST in God and until then, you cannot convince me to ignore my civic duty. Maybe convincing Christians not to vote is part of the deception.

    Settle Lawsuits among Believers

    1Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? 2Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? 4If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. 5I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? 6But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

    1. Great passage! I would not particularly apply it to Kavanaugh’s situation for the fact that I question if the woman was a believer herself and if Kavanaugh truly gave his life to the Lord (*I gave my life to Jesus in 2001 and still lingered in the Catholic Church until 2005, so I am lenient in this aspect with people I do not know on a personal level since only God TRULY knows one’s decision). It is possible to be godly, like Cornelius in Acts 10, and not completely be inducted to God’s household yet. It was only after Peter went to Cornelius’ house that they received the Holy Spirit.

      However, by the standard of this world, since he provided his calendar and the accuser had nothing but her own words and absolutely no one to corroborate her claim, it proved a baseless accusation. I expect anyone who is accused of something they have not done to be indignant especially when it comes to clearing one’s reputation and especially when the man could have possibly lost his ability to ever practice law and his livelihood. Absolutely no one would want to be put in that situation. Some people think it can never happen to them but in this day and age, we can only expect these things to increase all thanks to the Metoo movement which I personally believe came about and being weaponized to use against the POTUS. They started with Weinstein hoping the momentum would catch on to get Trump, then Roy Moore, Kavanaugh… Nancy Pelosi talked recently about collateral damage and it can only tell us the left really don’t care who they hurt in the process to achieve their agenda.

      Look at Matthew 25:31-33, “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.”

      It is clear those who are on the left are the crooked ones. The deception would be there are indeed crooked ones who pretend to be on the right. This is where the guidance of the Holy Spirit for discernment is important.
