To A Lukewarm Christian

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. |No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. |For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? |You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot partake in the table of the Lord and the table of demons too.

What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.” |You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever chooses to be a friend of the world renders himself an enemy of God.

If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. |because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s Law, nor can it do so.

Therefore, love the LORD your God and always keep His mandate and His statutes, ordinances, and commands. |Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

  1. Cold water refreshes the body on a hot summer day and hot water (Tea or coffee) keeps the body warm on a cold day. Warm water is just there to either cool it or boil it, it is not good for anything else in my book.
