A new year, a new you (or me)? I have no plans in making a New Year’s resolution of any kind save my constant struggle to shed the vanity pounds which happen to be the most stubborn and the hardest. Decided to take the Christmas tree down today which took less than 10 minutes and all the glitter has gone but all that remains is the nutcracker. I think it can serve as a perennial? (I mean season-less) figurine. I am still baffled as to why people decide to go to uber crowded New Year gatherings with people breathing down your neck and possibilities of being killed in a stampede. I feel bad really, but why? I am talking about the deaths in China which could have been completely avoided. Sometimes, it is better to forgo the happening thing. It may just save your life. Not everything the world shouts where you ought to be is where you ought to be. Maybe you ought to just be home…
I digress… my New Year’s day verse is Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Happy New Year to you all.
